KBTC William P. Mohler Community Award

About William Mohler:

To recognize and support leaders in the community, the KBTC Association a separate non-profit 501c3 has established the William P. Mohler Community Impact Award. The award is named in William (Bill) P. Mohler's honor because of his distinguished career in education and his passion for public media. Bill Mohler was the first and longest-serving president of Bates Technical College where he helped thousands of students get the training they need to find jobs, support families and contribute to the economic vitality of Washington. His dedication to education extended beyond a single institution to supporting access to lifelong learning through leadership at public television stations in Western Washington and advocacy efforts for PBS at a national level. he was a continuous advocate for education from cradle to career and beyond.

ABOUT THE AWARD:
The William P. Mohler Community Impact award is presented annually to an exceptional individual or organization making a positive difference in local efforts to support lifelong learning. The Award recipient will be announced each year at the annual KBTC Community Breakfast in the spring.

ELIGIBLITY:
Nominees should meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Commitment to sustained approach to supporting lifelong learning - either in a formal or informal setting.
  2. Commitment to improving opportunities for all people in the community we serve.
  3. demonstrated leadership in providing supportive and positive environments for lifelong learning


Nomination And Selection Process:

Nominators are asked to fill out the nomination form and short statement of how the nominee meets the eligibility. Please send the nomination from and statement electronically to sstanton@kbtc.org
